The Theology of Freedom

There are many wrong views of freedom in our day. For some, freedom means the right to sin. For some Christians, freedom in a nation can be seen almost as a bad thing (i.e., Christians are strengthened by persecution, therefore, freedom is a hindrance to the church).

But the Bible views freedom as a desirable thing, if it is used correctly. This message looks at what the Bible says concerning freedom.

Spiritual Warfare: More Than Just Prayer

The Bible is full of “warfare” language. The battles we fight today may not be like the battles of Old Testament saints, but God has called us to war. While prayer is a major component of spiritual warfare, it’s not the only weapon that God has given us.

This message gives a brief overview of warfare in the Bible, and gives examples of some of the weapons God has equipped us with.

There are many different versions of “Christianity” out there. Our current version doesn’t seem to be making too much of an impact on our world. There is, however, an alternative to weak, modern Christianity.

How God Used the Work of William Perkins

William Perkins was a great man of God, and yet his life may not seem as important as other towering figures in church history. But, God used this man in ways that are still being felt hundreds of years later. This message briefly looks at the life of Perkins and looks at how 1 Cor. 15:58 was true in his life and ours. Our labor “in the Lord” is never in vain.

Friday: the four millennial views

Friday’s Introduction to the four views of eschatology and four views of the book of Revelation

Historic/Classical Premillennialism (Mike Griggs)

Premillennialism version #2 (Paul Coleman) Note: this version of Premillennialism shares some agreement with Dispensationalism in that it sees the millennium as being more “Israel centric” than the Historic Premil. view. The speaker (Paul Coleman), however, doesn’t hold to other aspects of Dispensationalism.

Amillennialism (Scott Walker)

Postmillennialism (Mike Griggs)

Postmillennialism

There are 3 (some would say 4) main views on the end times (eschatology). While all of these views hold that Jesus will be victorious in the age to come, only one view believes that Jesus will be victorious in this age and the next. That view is called Postmillennialism. Postmillennialism is a minority view today, but it was the most common view in America at the time of our founding.

This series of messages was recorded in 2016 at Grace Church, in Bonifay, FL

1. Israel

2. The Nations

3. The King & His Kingdom

4. The Apostasy

5. The Great Tribulation

6. Revelation in an hour
