Description
The Good Life
The Bible tells us that we may suffer persecution. We may lose our material possessions. We may live a difficult life of suffering. But the Bible also speaks of the blessed or “good” life, a life that is peaceful, prosperous, and happy. Does God want us to be prosperous and happy? The answer is “sometimes”.
God often does grant His people “the good life”. When He does so, why does He do so? The answer: to advance His kingdom. The purpose of the “good life” is not so that you can spend your life in ease and leisure. God grants the good life so that Christians (and more importantly, Christian families) will be better empowered to do His will on earth.
The poor-destitute-persecuted-Christian-life, and the wealthy-happy-peaceful-Christian-life both have their place in God’s redemptive plan. This message shows, from Scripture, what the good life looks like, and describes some of its enemies.
